As a journalist, I’m always being given products to review, but I never endorse something unless I have tried it and would purchase it myself. In the past, I have avoided posting negative reviews of products. I know how disappointing it can be when you spend your money on a hyped up product that turns out to be a fail, so from now on I’ll be updating this list with products to avoid so you can learn from my mistakes.
Please email me any product fails you’ve experienced, and I will post them here!
Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads
While these seem like a good idea, they are SO greasy! It takes multiple pads to try to get all your mascara off and then you have to wash your face multiple times to get all the oil and grease off your face.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick
This is so difficult to put on, if it gets even a tiny bit outside your lips then it just stays permanently smeared on your face. No bueno.
Purely Great Lavender Natural Deodorant
Within 2 days of using this natural deodorant, I developed a crazy red rash underneath my arms. I’ve never had a reaction to any deodorant in the past, so this was surprising considering that it’s a natural version.
Le Labo Shampoo (at Soul Cycle)
Soul Cycle just outfitted all their studios with Le Labo products which I was initially excited about knowing how popular this brand is for their fragrances. The shampoo is HORRIBLE, it is so drying and made my hair impossible to manage and brush.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day In-Shower Styler
My hair air dries way better without this in it. This cream weighed my hair down and left it limp and feeling full of product, not exactly the beachy waves it promises.
Don’t worry, along with the bad I’ve found some incredible new products that are truly revolutionary. CLICK HERE for a full listing of my favorite tried and tested beauty products.
