HBO swept the Emmys last night taking home 43 Emmys, most of which I saw in person at the HBO Party at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. Catered by Wolfgang Puck, guests mingled under the stars after the sun finally set on Emmy Sunday.
The Veep table, surrounded by cast members Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Chlumsky, and Tony Hale had at least 10 unattended Emmys on it. Toward the end of the evening, Julia Louis-Dreyfus couldn’t even figure out which one to take home– examining a few before walking away with her statue for Best Lead Actress.
Game of Thrones, winning 12 trophies, broke a record for most awards won by a show in a single year which was previously held by West Wing. The cast crowded around Peter Dinklage who stayed well past midnight celebrating his win for Best Supporting Actor.
In addition to all the winning talent, I spotted the guys of Silicon Valley looking like they could take on the Hollywood scene. Omar Benson Miller who plays Charles Greene on Ballers walked through the party looking like a true NFL star. Other surprise talent included newlywed Justin Theroux, Marilyn Manson,The Foo Fighters, Julianne and Derek Hough, Kerry Washington, John Stamos, Laverne Cox, Adrien Brody, and Busy Phillips.
