Napa & Downtown Sonoma

While staying in Sonoma for Bottlerock, we decided to visit a few of the wineries we had been passing on the way to the concert.  Better views than wine.

Artesa Vineyards, pictured above, has beautiful panoramic views of the landscape in Napa.  The tasting room feels very artsy and the staff was warm and inviting.  As far as the wine goes, nothing on the five item tasting menu seemed to stand out.  We saw bikes parked out front, would be a nice long ride along their property.

Domaine Carneros is the beautiful castle-like building pictured.  They are related to Champagne Taittinger and specialize in sparkling wines.  We ordered the four wine sparkling sampler, only one of which was drinkable.  Our waiter seemed to want to usher us out quickly and the place was full of tourists (in gym shorts!).  Don’t be fooled by the posh curb appeal.
