The Viceroy Palm Springs has been taken over in the past year and is now the Avalon Palm Springs (a sister property of the adorable Avalon Hotel in LA just off Pico in Beverly Hills). The space is beautiful and has a warm boutique feel right in the heart of downtown Palm Springs.
